The  Association seeks to promote and support all branches of athletics within Gloucestershire.

We rely on volunteers and can not promote events without their help. If we have lots of volunteers the roles do not become onerous and if we have enough  you won’t feel guilty when you are not helping.

Many of the jobs involve very little commitment especially if where there is only one function.  Many can be completed by  young athletes or their brothers and sisters.

Even doing these tasks for a couple of hours is helpful.

Can you help?

The less complex ones are:
May 10th County Track and Field Championship

  • Buy and take to the track  meal deals for the officials
  • Carry the track results form from timekeepers to results desk
  • Type into an online form the results of events
  • Issue medals to winners
  • Rake the sand pit for  long jump
  • Retrieve throwing implements
  • Set up and move hurdles

Longer term roles are:

  • Prepare the agenda and take minutes of the 4 committee meetings a year
  • Order,  store and distribute to race directors and meeting manager about 1000 medals a year
  • Help – it can be unqualified – at the finish of the 4 cross country races we promote ( or become qualified).
  • Help at the county track and field championships as a qualified official
  • Possibly needed  next year :  Use , as part of a team, IT skills to  operate photo finish
