RULES FOR
COMPETITION
- The competition will be held under UKA Rules
- The Track and Field Referees decisions are final.
- Events will take place as listed on the timetable, unless announced differently on the day. Similar events will be combined
where convenient. The decision of the Meeting Manager will be final.
- Club vests must be worn if you are a club member unless special dispensation is obtained from the Meeting Manager.
- Under 13s are only allowed to compete in a maximum of 3 events. Masters may take part in the championships but will
compete as seniors with respect to medals.
- Only officials and athletes taking part in events are allowed inside the competition area.
- No personal stereos or similar devices, are allowed inside. the competition area.
- Competitors should report to the starters assistant at the start area of the race or to the Field Judge at the field event area no
later than 10 minutes before the start of an event.
- The first and second in each heat and the relevant number of next fastest finishers will take part in the finals
- In all field events, except High Jump and Pole Vault, competitors shall have 4 trials each unless they are advised differently by the
meeting management once the number of entrants has been ascertained. Where more than one age category competes at the same time this ruling will apply to each age category
separately.
- Starting blocks may be used in heats and finals.
- Medals will be awarded to first, second and third in each event in each age category for which championships entries are
accepted. In this regard masters will count as seniors (ie there are no separate masters medals). However, masters will be allowed to compete using the appropriate weight
implement for their age category if they wish although this will not qualify them for county championship medals. Guest competitors will not be eligible for the award of county
championship medals.
